Godley Middle School cross country teams shined in the Granbury Race for the Loot on September 27, 2023, at the Granbury Disc Golf Course.

The boys eighth grade team and both seventh grade squads won their respective divisions in the 3.2k contests featuring runners from a number of area junior high and middle schools.

Finishing first individually in the seventh-grade contests were Leighton Murphy (14:04.15) and Camden Riney (12:58.86).

GMS squads posted victories at earlier meets this season, with all teams placing first at the Keene Invitational on Aug. 30 and eighth grade boys and both seventh grade teams winning their divisions at both the Glen Rose Invitational on Sept. 13 and the Cleburne Wheat Middle School Invitational on Sept. 20.
