Godley Middle School cross country teams dominated the Cleburne Wheat Middle School Invitational on September 20, 2023, at Smith Intermediate School.

The boys eighth grade team and both seventh grade squads won their respective divisions in the 3.2k contests featuring runners from a number of area junior high and middle schools.

Finishing first individually in the boys contests were seventh grader Camden Riney (13:11.62) and eighth grader Jonah Wood (11:43.64).

GMS squads posted victories at earlier meets this season, with all teams placing first at the Keene Invitational on Aug. 30 and eighth grade boys and both seventh grade teams winning their divisions at the Glen Rose Invitational on Sept. 13.

  • 7th Girls (1st):  Leighton Murphy, 2nd; Savannah Ortega, 3rd; Kinley Simmons, 7th; Emma Alvarado, 8th; Makenna Jaskolowski, 12th; Laney Mullins, 14th; Caylee Price, 20th; Emmalee Adams; Dakota Wilmot; Kristal Green; Charlee Lowery; Josie Cheek; Sadie Showalter; Arianna Rodriguez; Neve Roy; Ava Wright; Emerson Coleman
