
Godley Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade students earned 25 medals at the 2026 UIL Junior VASE Competition on April 18, 2026, at Timberview Middle School in Keller.
The district also celebrated a special individual honor as Ziya Wilson received a Platinum Medal for outstanding artwork, one of the competition’s top recognitions.

The achievement highlights the creativity, talent and dedication of Godley Middle School students and staff.
“We are beyond proud of all of our medalists and the way they represented our school,” Godley Middle School art teacher Krista Richard said.
Medalists by division included:
- Division 1: Cheyenne Bills, Nevaeh Williams, Ziya Wilson (2 entries)
- Division 2: Emma Coggin, Avery Eddolls (2 entries), Aaron Jolly, Brinley Jones, Daphne Lytle (2 entries), Martha Moreno, Braxen Pannell, Jimena Ramirez (2 entries), Nathan Rodriguez, Shelby Royal, Sharityn Sandoval, Liam Schott, Valynn Terrell, Carlee Vaughn
- Division 3: Saige Armstrong (2 entries), Lola Geiler
The mission of the Texas Art Education Association’s Visual Art Scholastic Event is to recognize exemplary student achievement in the visual arts by providing students and programs a standard of excellence to pursue. The junior competition for middle school students began in 1999.
