Godley High School track and field athletes wrapped up the 2026 season with several strong performances at the UIL Region II-4A Track and Field Meet held May 1-2, 2026, at East Texas A&M University in Commerce.

A highlight of the regional meet came from senior Makayla Jetton, who broke her own school record in the girls 3200-meter run with a time of 11:43.18, finishing fifth overall. The performance marked the first sub-12-minute 3200-meter run in school history.

Jetton also competed in the girls 800-meter run, placing eighth overall with a time of 2:24.80, while sophomore Kennedy Black finished 13th in the same event with a time of 2:29.55.

Freshman Leighton Murphy also represented the Ladycats in the 3200 meters, finishing 12th overall.

Other regional competitors for Godley included Maddyn Martin in the 100-meter hurdles and high jump, Brett Fancher in the boys 110-meter hurdles and the girls 4x100-meter relay team of Peyton Bower, Brooke Gallagher, Laney Mullins and Emily Gboyah.
