Godley High School students had the opportunity to attend the National Utility Contractors Association’s North Texas Live Trench Training on September 13, 2024, at Horton Truck & Equipment.

With an interactive safety training program presented by United Rentals Trench Safety, attendees - including job site leaders and crew members - rotated through 10 interactive training stations.  Students learned about electricity, arcing, trenching and various other topics around the field.

Facilitating the trip for the GHS students was former school board trustee Greg Miller with Trinity Utilities & Boring.  Miller previously served as the NUCA North Texas president.

The mission of NUCA is to connect Texas contractors, increase safety and advocate on common issues.  NUCA is the only trade association dedicated solely to the utility and excavation construction industry.
