Godley High School students earned top honors, including two state championships, at the Technology Student Association State Conference, held April 9-11, 2026, at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

AJ Garcia-Robles captured a state championship in yearbook layout, while Camila Jasso earned a state title in photojournalism to lead the Wildcats’ performance at the state meet.

Godley students competed against top qualifiers from across Texas, showcasing their skills in a wide range of technology and career-focused events.

State results for GHS were:

• Chapter team — 11th place, AJ Garcia-Robles, Reagan DeLeon, Nola Briscoe, Hayden Flood, Evan Culbertson and Zane Simmons.
• Debating technological issues — 10th place, AJ Garcia-Robles and Kori Iglehart.
• Exploratory photography — 7th place, Hayzel Little.
• Magazine layout — 5th place, Reagan DeLeon.
• Photojournalism — 1st place, Camila Jasso.
• Sports photography — 10th place, Camila Jasso.
• Yearbook layout — 1st place, AJ Garcia-Robles.

Also competing at the state contest were Naimah Ahumerda, Julyssa Aguilera, Ashley Ballweg, Danna Castillo, Bailen Carroll, Emerson Coleman, Brett Fancher, Ava Jackson, Danica Renken, Aiden Peace, Katie Ponce, Luis Rocha, Lesley Rodriguez, Mia Simmons, Glen Leevy, Angel Montalvo, Michael Swanson, Trynity Lively, Yareli Romero and Jesley Wilson.

The TSA high school chapter is sponsored by Godley High School career and technical education teacher Lindsay Simmons.

With the motto “Learning to Lead in a Technical World,” TSA fosters personal growth, leadership and opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Students apply and integrate these concepts through co-curricular activities, competitions and related programs.
