Godley High School seniors Kovey Peacock and Bradey Thomas announced college commitments during a signing ceremony on April 11, 2025.
Basketball player Kovey Peacock is headed to Kansas Wesleyan University, where the Coyotes compete in the NAIA’s Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. The college is located in Salina, Kansas.
The GHS basketball standout was named co-offensive player of the year for Cleburne Times-Review’s All-Johnson County basketball team, and he also competed in the Chicken Express All-Star Classic last month.
Thomas, who played both varsity football and basketball for the Wildcats, signed with Buena Vista University to play football. He will join his older brother, Peyton, and Colin Workman, who both play baseball for the college since graduating from Godley in 2022.
The GHS senior was named first-team all-district safety as well as academic all-state following the 2024 season.
With the university located in Storm Lake, Iowa, the Beavers compete in NCAA Division III athletics with the American Rivers Conference.
