Godley High School sophomore Keegan Bohannon is building on his ag mechanics skills to become the youngest knifemaker completing a key milestone with a state guild.
Bohannon’s hard work and craftsmanship led him to achieve LoneStar Knifemaker status in the Texas Knifemakers’ Guild. His work was evaluated by judges at Blade Show Texas on Feb. 24 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
LoneStar Knifemakers must complete an extensive judging process with a thorough inspection of presented knives having no major technical errors and uniform blades with minimal grit finish. The knife must also be shaving sharp.
Although knives are not permitted on school campuses, Bohannon competes in FFA events and stock shows with his handcrafted knives. He also runs his own business with knives for purchase.
