Godley High School soccer teams earned tournament championships as the 2025–26 season moves into full swing.
The Ladycats captured the Palestine Ladycat Soccer Winter Cup, held Jan. 1–3. After opening tournament play with a 1-0 loss to Henderson, Godley responded with four consecutive wins to claim the title, defeating Mabank 5-0, Nacogdoches 5-0, Chapel Hill 4-0, and Athens 1-0 in the championship match.
The varsity Ladycats roster includes Nola Briscoe, Ryleigh Dollins, Kaylie Fabela, Jordyn Geesaman, Griffin Gill, Rylie Graves, Sophia Hodges, Jordyn Hutt, Makenna Jaskolowski, Eden Kelly, Arynn Long, Denise Ortega, Julyssa Ortiz, Yarlei Romero, Rylee Swanson and Lexi Tyler.

According to head coach Kasie Welborn, Arynn Long, Rylie Graves and Stephanie Favela led the team offensively as the tournament’s top scorers, while Lexi Tyler, Sophia Hodges and Makenna Jaskolowski made key contributions across the field. Defensively, Kaylie Fabela, Jordyn Hutt, Jordyn Geesaman and Griffin Gill anchored a strong back line, and Nola Briscoe provided steady play in goal throughout the tournament. Welborn is assisted by Alice Brooks.
On the boys side, the Wildcats won the Springtown Invitational on Jan. 8–10 with victories over Fort Worth THESA (2-0) and Springtown (2-1), followed by a scoreless tie against Fort Worth Dunbar. Godley secured the tournament championship with a 2-0 win over Azle.
Tournament goals were scored by Anthony Garcia, Noah Lopez, Leo Mendoza and Gerson Moreno.
“Defensively, the group had an outstanding tournament, conceding only one goal,” said Wildcat head coach Ever Cisneros, who is assisted by Billy Dan Chambliess. “This tournament was a full-circle moment for our seniors, as it was a rematch of the championship game from their freshman year in this same tournament, when we faced Azle and fell short in the final.”

The Wildcat varsity roster includes Josue Arvizu, Parker Bowling, Turner Clark, Damien Deluna, Gilberto Gallardo, Anthony Garcia, Jose Jimenez, Maddox Jutrus, Noah Lopez, Kevin Maldonado, Jeremy Macias, Leo Mendoza, Luke Mercer, Gerson Moreno, Alexis Morales, Adam Pempsell, Jairo Perez, Joey Ramirez, Michael Swanson, Kaiden Torres, Sean Warren, Kaylon Williams and Landon Wolinski.
