A Godley High School team competed at the Cowtown BEST robotics competition on November 3-4, 2023, at Kennedale High School.

Team members are captain Valeria Villagrana, Riley Swanson, Jay Swiger, Michael Swanson and Tyler Melson.

This year’s game had a medical theme of “Incision Decision” so that custom-built robots performed tasks mirroring how surgical robots assist physicians with complex procedures such as angioplasty, coronary bypass, biopsies and more.

“We had CAD drawings in our notebook and a booth as part of our marketing efforts - new things that we had not done in years prior,” commented team sponsor Erik Walla.

Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology (BEST) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization with a mission to inspire middle and high school students to pursue careers in professional careers like engineering, science, and technology through participation in a sports-like, science and engineering-based robotics competition.
