
The Godley High School Wind Ensemble delivered a standout performance at the UIL State Wind Ensemble Festival held May 2, 2026, on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.
Directed by Joe Walker, the Godley Wind Ensemble represented Godley ISD among top-performing bands from across Texas during the prestigious festival at Bates Recital Hall in the Butler School of Music.
The ensemble’s music selections included:
- “The Black Horse Troop” by John Philip Sousa
- “The Ascent from Darkness” by Rossano Galante
- “Ride” by Samuel Hazo
The UIL State Wind Ensemble Festival is a non-competitive event that brings together outstanding school bands from across the state to perform in a concert setting focused on musicianship and artistry. The festival is designed to challenge student musicians to perform at the highest possible level for an appreciative and supportive audience in one of the state’s premier concert venues.
Members of the Wind Ensemble include Fiyinfoluwa Adedoja, Julissa Aguirre, Bella Atwood, Paiton Bailey, Rylie Bax, Valerie Botello, Haven Bryson, Miley Cassio, Isaac Christensen, Aliyah Conn, Briggs Flood, Hayden Flood, Samantha Foran, Raul Garcia, Jordyn Geesaman, John Gillard, Aiden Hart, Tucker Holzheuser, Nicholas Jackson, Brystal James, Nightly James, Joseph Johnson, Gabriel Lal, Glenn Leevy, Hudson Marks, Ailea Martinez, Jaziel Martinez, Emily Miller, Jordan Minter, Eric Miramontes, Jesus Morales, Dylan Mourning, Juan Olalde, Isabelle Ortega, Savannah Ortega, Caylee Price, Adriana Rodriguez, Lesley Rodriguez, Zoe Royal, McKinley Simmons, Mia Simmons, Zane Simmons, Mackenzie Stokey, Dex Swiger, Abbigail Taylor, Brandon Teal and Keaton Wortham.

The festival featured ensembles from classifications ranging from 2A through 6A from across Texas. Participating groups perform for evaluators and clinicians while also listening to performances by other schools throughout the day.
