A group of Godley High School audio-visual students placed in the UIL State Film Festival 2025.

The narrative film “Hooked” finished in ninth place among Class 4A schools.  The film centers on a young woman from a broken home who overcomes inner turmoil with resilience for the universal search for happiness in a life that seems devoid of it.

Students involved in the project were Mya Arevalo, Jordan Downe, Braylen Knott, Isabelle Ortega, Ben Rosser and Ruby Villegas.  GHS audio-visual teacher and sponsor was Peyton Trawick.

The state film festival seeks to provide students with the opportunity to explore the art of cinematic storytelling. One of four festival categories, narrative films of 3-7 minutes tell a cohesive, often fictional, story with cause and effect events through filmmaking techniques such as directing, cinematography and screenwriting.
