Godley ISD has named Addy Gerlach as the new assistant principal of Godley 6th Grade Campus, joining Principal Jayme Duckett in campus leadership. The appointment was approved by the Board of Trustees during its June 24, 2026, special meeting.

Gerlach brings experience in both campus leadership and classroom instruction. She most recently served as assistant principal at Irene Clinkscale Elementary in Burleson ISD, where she coordinated campus testing, managed Section 504 plans, supported student discipline and partnered with staff and families to promote student success.

Prior to that role, Gerlach served in Mansfield ISD, where she completed an assistant principal internship at J.L. Boren Elementary. There, she conducted classroom observations, supported intervention planning for struggling students and facilitated student achievement data meetings to strengthen instruction. She also served as a first grade teacher and team leader at Brenda Norwood Elementary, leading teacher collaboration, mentoring educators and helping implement consistent instructional practices. In addition, she served as a campus culture liaison and mentor for new teachers.

Gerlach earned a bachelor’s degree in personal financial planning from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University. 

The new G6 assistant principal succeeds Michelle Sveum, who retired at the end of the 2025-26 school year after years of dedicated service to Godley ISD students, staff and families.
