Four Godley Wildcat football players earned All-State accolades from the Texas Sports Writers Association following the 2022 season.
Making the TSWA list among Class 4A players were:

1st Team: Landon Thigpen, running back

2nd Team: Drew Coleman, wide receiver

Honorable Mention: Ryan Gambino, offensive tackle; Ethan Hall, center
Coleman and Thigpen also were named to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s all-area team, and both were tapped for the Padilla Poll’s all-state list on the first team and second team respectively.
The foursome earned District 4-4A honors as well - Thigpen, a junior, was the district’s offensive player of the year while Coleman, Gambino and Hall each received first-team recognition.
For the All-Johnson County football team, Thigpen shared the top honor as co-most valuable player. Coleman, a senior now headed to play for the McMurry War Hawks, was co-offensive player of the year. On the first-team offense list was Hall, a senior, while junior Gambino was a second-team selection.
