Six members of the Godley Wildcat football team were honored with selection to the 2024-25 Academic All-State football squads by the Texas High School Coaches Association. 

Team members making the all-state squads were: 

• Second Team:  Christian Gonzalez, Bradey Thomas
• Honorable Mention:  Kane Albee, Amiya Edwards (student athletic trainer), Jackson Hughes, Creed Miller

Sponsored by the Texas Army National Guard, the THSCA Academic All-State Teams recognize high school athletes who excel in the following categories: GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score. The student athletes are placed on teams according to the number of points they have earned. 

Nominations are limited to athletes, student trainers or managers in good standing with the team and who are of good moral character, are a senior and have an overall grade point average of 92 or above (including courses from grades 9-11 and courses completed from grade 12). 

The THSCA program is in its 24th year and has steadily grown to over two thousand applicants.
