Godley High School entrepreneurship students toured the BSN Sports facility in Grand Prairie on November 18, 2024.
The group heard from professionals about their direct-to-film (DTF) printing, embroidery, inventory, processing and more.
“We try to provide real-world learning experiences for students giving them skills they can use in the workforce,” commented Dr. Nikki Nix, the Godley ISD career and technical education director.
Entrepreneurship helps students learn about business, marketing and finance, a program at The WILD, the new four-story CTE center housing numerous programs with over 40 classrooms, learning spaces and student-led enterprises.
The entrepreneurship program of study teaches CTE learners how to plan, direct and coordinate the management and operations of public or private-sector organizations. Students learn the skills necessary to formulate policies, manage daily operations, analyze management structures, and plan for the use of materials and human resources.
Most notably, students run Shop the WILD, the school store located at the entrance of the facility. Students not only are in charge of the operation of the store but also develop many of the apparel and products for sale.
