Godley Independent School District - Empowering Students

Logo Title

Six Godley ISD elementary students were honored as nominees for National Math Stars, a program that ensures mathematically extraordinary students from all communities have the resources they need to reach the frontiers of math and science.  The group was honored at the GISD school board meeting on May 19, 2025.

Nominated are William Eddolls, Landon Glegg, Colton Irvin, Kinsey Redfield, Leo Reiser and George Spears representing Legacy Elementary School, Pleasant View Elementary School and R.B. Godley Elementary School.

The ten-year, fully funded program supports and inspires our Stars’ love of mathematics from as early as third grade through the end of high school, according to gifted and talented coordinator Jennifer Camp.

The organization works in close partnership with students and families to design a journey that aligns with their strengths and interests. An investment of more than $100,000 in support and resources helps create a pathway for them to reach the frontiers of mathematics, science and technology.  Students selected receive additional benefits:

  • math development through advanced coursework, summer enrichment camps, and math coaching
  • financial support providing an annual family stipend for enrichment activities
  • supportive community with in person and virtual events, as well as family and student resources
  • monthly advising for families, helping with individual learning plans, as well as school and college support.

The nonprofit was founded in 2023 to work on its goal for math and science education.
