Sgt. Dusty Ford

Sergeant Dusty Ford is departing as Godley ISD’s school resource officer on November 11, 2022.

Ford will soon receive a promotion to be chief of the Rio Vista ISD Police Department.

“After being blessed to be a part of this wonderful district for 12 years and creating many amazing friendships, it is with a heavy heart that I will be telling you all goodbye,” Ford wrote to GISD staff members.

Ford served Godley schools during stints with multiple law enforcement agencies.  He joined the Godley Police Department earlier this year after retiring as a deputy with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office following 23 years of service.

“Dusty Ford has been a big part of Godley ISD,” commented GISD Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear.  “He has been instrumental in developing plans and protocols to ensure the safety of our students and staff, and he has been a respected member of our community.  We wish him well in his new position, and he will definitely be missed.”

Ford is past president of the Texas Association of School Resource Officers and serves on the organization’s executive board.
