Godley High School senior Veronica Duran announced plans to continue running track at Tarleton State University during a signing ceremony on May 7, 2024.

Located in Stephenville, the Texans compete in NCAA Division I’s Western Athletic Conference.

A hurdler, Duran was third in the 100-meter and first in the 300-meter events at the district meet.  At the area contest, she was first in the 300 and fourth in the 100 to earn regional bids for both.  Duran finished third in the 300-meter hurdles at the regional competition.

The GHS senior is pictured with her parents, Flavio and Julie Duran, brother Alex along with Ladycat head coach Keith McFarland and GHS principal Kurtis Flood. They were joined by Godley teammates at the college signing at GHS.
