Jayme Duckett will be the new principal of Godley 6th Grade Campus beginning with the 2024-25 school year. Godley ISD made the announcement on May 23, 2024.
“Jayme will be a great instructional leader for our sixth graders,” commented Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear. “She brings over 20 years of experience to the job, including the past four years here in Godley. We are excited that she is stepping into a new role as a principal.”
Having come to Godley in 2020 as an assistant principal, Duckett is currently the assistant principal at Legacy Elementary School. She began her career in 2003 as a second grade teacher in Waco, where she later taught fourth grade and served as a science curriculum specialist. Beginning in 2007, she taught third grade in Granbury ISD for eight years before working as an instructional coach at both elementary and secondary levels.
Duckett earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Baylor University. She earned her principal certification from Tarleton State University, where she is also pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership.
The incoming principal succeeds Stephanie Wynne, who is moving to Godley Middle School as principal.
