Spencer Davis is the new chief financial officer in Godley ISD, having joined the school district in February 2024.
Davis came to Godley from the Region 11 Education Service Center, where he served as business services coordinator since January 2014.
“We are incredibly lucky to have Spencer in Godley ISD,” commented Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear. “He is invested in the Godley community. In addition, he will help navigate through the complexities of Texas school finance especially at a time when inadequate state funding for public schools is causing almost all districts to consider budget cutbacks. We are thankful for his leadership.”
The new CFO is a Registered Texas School Business Administrator (RTSBA) with certification from the Texas Association of School Business Officials after completing 90 course hours in accounting, payroll, finance and school business management.
He holds a master’s degree in business administration from West Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Howard Payne University.
Davis is no stranger to Godley, having already lived in the community where his wife, Lindsey, teaches at Legacy Elementary School. The couple’s two daughters also attend Legacy.
