
Jerry Campbell, a coach and teacher at Godley Middle School, was honored with a teaching excellence award during the California Coaches Conference at Concordia University Irvine on June 23-27, 2025.
In addition to his GMS job, Campbell is an adjunct faculty member for the university, helping to lead an online education master’s program in athletic administration. At the middle school, he teaches health and coaches boys sports while serving as campus athletic coordinator.
Prior to moving to Godley in 2023, Campbell was a coach at Clovis West High School in California, where he taught health and coached football, softball and girls badminton. He began his career in Texas, including a stint at Round Rock Westwood High School, Victoria Memorial High School and Texas A&M University Kingsville.
Campbell holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical education from California State University Chico.
