Godley ISD recognized its dedicated team of bus drivers during the October 20, 2025, school board meeting in celebration of National School Bus Safety Week.
Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear and the Board of Trustees expressed appreciation for the district’s transportation staff, who ensure students travel safely to and from school each day. The week highlights the vital role of bus drivers and promotes awareness of school bus safety for all members of the community.
Godley ISD operates 23 bus routes and two shuttles that transport more than 1,400 students daily, covering over 150,000 miles each year. In addition to regular routes, drivers support student learning and activities by providing transportation for field trips, athletic events, and extracurricular programs. The department also maintains the district’s small white fleet used by staff and student groups.
Pictured along with the drivers are Director of Transportation Jimmy Palcic and Assistant Director Wendy Taylor.
