Godley High School senior and Godley FFA member Nola Briscoe has been awarded a $10,000 National FFA Future Leaders Scholarship, recognizing her leadership, academic achievement and involvement in agricultural education.  The announcement was made April 23, 2026.

The scholarship supports students planning to pursue degrees or certifications in agriculture or skilled trades and recognizes students who have demonstrated leadership and community involvement both inside and outside the classroom.

Briscoe currently serves as the Godley FFA chapter sentinel and has built an extensive record of success through agricultural education, leadership activities and competition. During her time in the program, she has participated in leadership development events (LDEs), speaking contests, supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs), community service projects and numerous livestock shows.

She is also active in multiple extracurricular and academic organizations at Godley High School, including volleyball, soccer, National Honor Society and Exchangettes.

Briscoe is currently a member of the Godley FFA floriculture career development event (CDE) team, which placed sixth at the state level this year. She has also competed at the state level in floriculture in previous years.

Her accomplishments in agricultural education have also included earning a $10,000 Calf Scramble Scholarship in 2025 through the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. As a sophomore in 2024, Briscoe placed first in the organization’s floriculture competition and earned a $2,000 scholarship. Earlier this year, she was also recognized as the high-point individual at the 2026 Floriculture Career Development Event contest, earning an additional $2,000 scholarship.

In addition, Briscoe earned the Texas FFA Lone Star Degree last summer, one of the organization’s highest honors recognizing student achievement in agricultural education, leadership and supervised agricultural experiences.
