Ammie Hill, principal of Legacy Elementary School, is bidding farewell as the campus leader at the end of the 2023-24 school year.
“This choice was not made lightly, as I have cherished my time here immensely,” Hill wrote in a message to parents. “However, after much contemplation, I believe it is the most suitable decision for both my family and me at this time.”
Hill began her service in Godley as assistant principal at Godley High School in 2017. She moved to Godley Intermediate School as principal in 2019 and has served at Legacy Elementary for the past two years.
“Working with your children and being a part of this remarkable school community has been a privilege and a joy,” Hill continued in the parent message. “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your unwavering support and understanding throughout my tenure. I frequently express my belief that Legacy boasts exceptional students, families, and faculty members.”
“Ammie Hill has been an amazing campus principal and leader in Godley ISD,” remarked Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear. “We honor the personal sacrifices that great leaders make while serving others, while also respecting the need to focus on their families. Ammie will still be part of the Godley school community, supporting her husband and three children at campus activities. We applaud her service to Godley students, teachers and families.”
Hill began her educational career in 2013 as a social studies teacher at Keene High School. She became an assistant principal in Granbury ISD, serving at Crossland Ninth Grade Center and later Granbury High School before coming to Godley.
The principal holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Texas Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in education from Tarleton State University.
“My affection for Legacy and Godley ISD knows no bounds,” concluded Hill.
