The newly formed Godley ISD Bond Oversight Advisory Committee (BOAC) held its first meeting on May 6, 2026, in the Godley High School Den, bringing together community members to learn more about district bond projects, finances and transparency efforts connected to voter-approved bonds.
The meeting began with introductions as committee members shared their backgrounds and areas of expertise.
District leaders then reviewed the purpose of the committee and how it will help keep the community informed about bond projects and spending. The BOAC serves in an advisory role by reviewing project updates, financial reports and construction progress while also providing feedback to district leadership and the Board of Trustees.
Committee members also learned more about Godley ISD’s history of bond elections dating back to 1966, including the 2021 bond program that funded projects such as Pleasant View Elementary School, The WILD career and technical education facility, the high school fine arts wing and competition arena, and other district improvements.
Financial reports connected to the 2021 bond program were presented during the meeting, including updates on completed projects, remaining balances and the impact inflation has had on school construction costs in recent years.
The committee also reviewed Godley ISD’s recent transparency efforts, including receiving three Transparency Stars from the Texas Comptroller in 2024 for finances, debt obligations and open government compliance.
Future committee discussions are expected to include construction audits, economic impacts and updates related to closing out the 2021 bond program.
The school district launched a dedicated Bond Oversight Advisory Committee webpage at www.godleyisd.net/boac where presentations, documents and meeting information will be available to the public. Community members may also submit questions and feedback for future discussion through the website or by emailing boc@godleyisd.net.
