Godley ISD has named Phillip Adams as a new assistant principal at Godley High School following approval by the Board of Trustees during its July 20, 2026, meeting.

Adams joins the Godley High School leadership team alongside Principal Kurtis Flood and assistant principals Kristin Armstrong and Letitia McCasland.

The new GHS administrator brings nearly two decades of experience in public education, including several years in campus administration. Adams most recently served as assistant principal at Benbrook Middle-High School in Fort Worth ISD, where he has held campus leadership responsibilities since 2010.  He previously taught in both Fort Worth and Lockhart. 

Throughout his administrative career, Adams has focused on building strong campus systems, supporting teachers, improving student outcomes and fostering positive school culture. His experience includes campus operations, staff development, attendance initiatives, College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) and graduation coordination.

"Mr. Adams brings a wealth of experience in instructional leadership, campus operations and relationship building," Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear said. "His commitment to students, staff and families makes him an outstanding addition to the Godley High School team, and we are excited to welcome him to Godley ISD."

Adams earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Texas A&M University and a master;s degree in educational administration from The University of Texas at Arlington.

The new campus administrator succeeds Evan Johnson, who is returning to Burleson ISD after two years in Godley.
