The Godley ISD District Educational Improvement Council (DEIC) met on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Godley High School.  Assistant Superintendent Jason Karnes started the meeting at 4:15 p.m. by highlighting Points of Pride from around the district.  

The committee reviewed a proposal for the 2026-27 academic year calendar.  The calendar is comparable to current school calendars.  The first day of school will be a bit later, and Spring Break will be the third week of March 2027.  Committee members recommended changing a staff development day from the Monday following Spring Break to the Monday following Easter, allowing for a four-day weekend for students.

The proposal was approved unanimously by a show of hands and will be considered by the school board.

The committee reviewed future meeting dates:  Feb. 5, Mar. 5 (public meeting/ District Annual Report), and Apr. 2.
