Students who currently attend GISD schools in either pre-kindergarten or kindergarten are already registered and do not need to participate.

Only new parents/guardians need to establish a Skyward account.  Parents/guardians with older students currently enrolled in Godley ISD may add a new child in their Skyward Family Access portal.

2026-27 Kindergarten & Pre-Kindergarten Roundup

Godley ISD will hold Kindergarten (K) and Pre-Kindergarten (PK) Roundup in April 2026 for parents and guardians to register children for the 2026-27 school year.

Registration will be by appointment only.

🎓 Eligibility Requirements

  • Kindergarten: Student must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2026

  • Pre-Kindergarten: Student must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2026

    • Full-day pre-kindergarten is available for eligible students


📄 What to Bring

Parents or guardians must bring the enrolling student to the appointment and provide:

  • Parent/guardian driver’s license or state ID

  • Child’s birth certificate

  • Immunization (shot) records

  • Child’s Social Security card

  • Two proofs of residency (such as utility bills)

  • Most recent pay stub (required to determine PK eligibility)


📆 First Day of School

The 2026-27 school year begins Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026.

Godley ISD Pre-Kindergarten Enrollment

  • Priority is given to children who qualify based on income or other state requirements. There is no tuition for these students.
  • For children who do not qualify based on income or other state requirements, enrollment is based on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be tuition for these students.

Texas Pre-Kindergarten Eligibility Guidelines

Texas school districts offer pre-kindergarten for students who meet one of the requirements below:

  • unable to speak and comprehend English, limited-English proficient (LEP)
  • educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the national free or reduced price lunch program)
  • homeless, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child;
  • child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; 
  • child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty;
  • in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services following an adversary hearing held as provided by Texas Family Code Section 262.201; or foster care in another state or territory, if the child resides in this state;
  • child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer, firefighter, or first responder under Texas Government Code 3106 (injured or killed in the line of duty).
  • child of a person employed as a classroom teacher at a public primary or secondary school in the school district - Godley ISD has extended this to all full-time district employees.
