Students who currently attend GISD schools in either pre-kindergarten or kindergarten are already registered and do not need to participate.

Two more dates for any incoming K or PK student!

Godley ISD will hold K & PK Roundup on April 23 and 30, 2025, for parents to register their children for kindergarten or pre-kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year.

Registration will be open for appointment only at the district administration building located at 313 N. Pearson Street.

Dates and Times:

  • Wednesday, April 23 - 8 a.m. - 3 p. m.

  • Wednesday, April 30 - 8 a.m. - 3 p. m.

Eligibility:  For kindergarten, students must be at least five years old on or before Sept. 1.  Full-day pre-kindergarten is available for students who are four years old on or before Sept. 1.

What to Bring: 

  • Parents and guardians must bring their enrolling student with them to registration.
  • Parents or guardians should bring a copy of their driver’s license or state identification card as well as the child’s birth certificate, shot records and Social Security card.  In addition, they should also bring two proofs of residency such as utility bills. In order to determine eligibility for pre-kindergarten, parents or guardians should provide a copy of their most recent pay stub.

The 2025-26 school year begins on Wednesday, Aug. 6.

Godley ISD Pre-Kindergarten Enrollment

  • Priority is given to children who qualify based on income or other state requirements. There is no tuition for these students.
  • For children who do not qualify based on income or other state requirements, enrollment is based on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be tuition for these students.

Texas Pre-Kindergarten Eligibility Guidelines

Texas school districts offer pre-kindergarten for students who meet one of the requirements below:

  • unable to speak and comprehend English, limited-English proficient (LEP)
  • educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the national free or reduced price lunch program)
  • homeless, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child;
  • child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; 
  • child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty;
  • in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services following an adversary hearing held as provided by Texas Family Code Section 262.201; or foster care in another state or territory, if the child resides in this state;
  • child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer, firefighter, or first responder under Texas Government Code 3106 (injured or killed in the line of duty).
