Chief Communications Officer
Jeff Meador, APR
Jeff Meador became the Chief Communications Officer in August 2022.
Meador previously was the Granbury ISD communications director from 2007 until 2022. Prior to making the transition to public education, Meador worked at Tarleton State University as the public policy information officer at the Center for Agribusiness Excellence. He previously served as legislative assistant to Congressman Charles W. Stenholm in Washington D.C., as manager of Stenholm’s re-election campaigns, and as a regulatory affairs manager in Sprint’s government relations office in Austin.
A Tarleton graduate, Meador received a Bachelor of Arts in government and history and later earned a Master of Arts in history and political science. In 2021, Meador earned an Executive Master of Public Service through the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service.
Meador received the F.L. Elder Award for Outstanding Reporting in Education from the Texas ASCD in October 2013. He was named Optimist of the Year in 2009 and 2012 and an honoree at the Tarleton Alumni Academic Forum in 1999. He was also honored in 2017 by the Hood County Retired School Personnel Association with two awards for exemplary reporting on education.
He is a member of the Texas School Public Relations Association, National School Public Relations Association, Public Relations Society of America, and the Association of Texas Professional Educators.
In 2019, Meador received Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) through PRSA's Universal Accreditation Board.
