Student Aide Program (High School Only)
Hey Wildcats! If you enjoy being around sports, want to be part of a team, or are considering a future in healthcare, the Godley High School Athletic Training Student Aide Program may be the perfect opportunity for you.
Each year, we select a group of high school students to join our Sports Medicine team for the upcoming school year. Student aides work alongside athletes, coaches, and a certified athletic trainer, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, team-centered environment.
What You’ll Gain
As a Student Athletic Training Aide, you will:
- Assist with injury prevention, evaluation, and basic care
- Help with treatment and rehabilitation of student-athletes
- Work directly at practices and games (including some travel opportunities)
- Learn real-world medical and sports medicine skills
- Build teamwork, responsibility, and leadership experience
- Strengthen your resume for college and future careers in healthcare or athletics
Program Expectations
This is a serious commitment that requires dedication, responsibility, and professionalism.
- Students accepted into the program are expected to:
- Be dependable, punctual, and follow directions
- Maintain professionalism as representatives of Godley ISD
- Show honesty, integrity, and initiative
- Maintain at least a 70% average in all classes
- Follow all Athletic Training Room rules and procedures
- Respect confidentiality of athlete information (HIPAA guidelines)
Time Commitment
Student aides must be prepared for a demanding schedule:
- Attend 2–3 practices per week and 1–2 games per week (including some weekends and breaks)
- Be available before and/or after school
- Will coordinate schedules if participating in athletics or other activities
Responsibilities
Student aides play an important role in the daily operations of the program, including:
- Setting up and breaking down fields and equipment
- Assisting with treatments and rehabilitation
- Maintaining athlete records and daily logs
- Cleaning and organizing the athletic training room
- Restocking medical supplies
- Supporting the athletic trainer with assigned duties
Program Standards
To remain in the program, students must:
- Follow dress code and maintain a professional appearance
- Be on time and attend all assigned events
- Avoid excessive absences or tardiness
- Demonstrate positive behavior and teamwork
- Adhere to all program expectations and rules
Failure to meet expectations may result in disciplinary action or removal from the program.
Application Process
Interested students must complete the following:
- Submit a completed application
- Provide a current report card
- Obtain three recommendation forms from teachers, coaches, or school staff

Who Can Apply
Open to Godley High School students only: Priority Sophomore, Juniors and Seniors. Freshman will be considered if positions still open
