Danny Dudgeon

Danny Dudgeon serves as Godley ISD's Director of Athletics and head football coach, providing leadership for the district's athletic programs while fostering a culture that emphasizes excellence, character and student success. Since joining Godley ISD in 2024, he has helped build on the district's tradition of competitive athletics, guiding programs that have achieved historic success across multiple sports while maintaining a strong focus on academic achievement and leadership development.

In 2026, Dudgeon was recognized statewide by Dave Campbell's Texas Football as one of the publication's 40 Under 40 – Who's Next Among Texas Coaches, honoring the state's top rising high school football coaches. Under his leadership, Godley athletics has celebrated postseason success across every high school athletic program, reflecting the district's commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes.

Before coming to Godley, Dudgeon served as athletic director and head football coach at Clyde High School, where he transformed the Bulldogs into one of Texas' most improved programs and earned recognition from Dave Campbell's Texas Football as the 3A Team of the Year. Earlier in his career, he served as offensive coordinator at Abilene Cooper High School and coached at Breckenridge and Bastrop Cedar Creek, while also teaching mathematics.

An Abilene native, Dudgeon earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Howard Payne University, where he was a four-year offensive lineman for the Yellow Jackets.
