Assistant Superintendent
Jason Karnes
Jason Karnes became the Assistant Superintendent in 2019.
Karnes holds a bachelor's degree in agricultural development from Texas A&M University. He later earned a Master of Education from Tarleton State University.
A native of Glen Rose, Karnes has worked in Godley for over 20 years. He taught at Godley Elementary School from 2003-2012 before moving into campus administration as assistant principal at Godley Middle School, Godley Elementary, and Godley Intermediate School. Karnes was named principal of Godley Intermediate in 2015 and Godley High School in 2017.
Karnes and his wife, Jennifer, have three children: Braden, a student and baseball player at East Texas Baptist University; Landry, a student at ETBU; Tripp, a student at GHS.
The assistant superintendent is active with the Texas A&M Association of Former Students. His past community involvement includes service as a men's ministry leader, children's program sponsor, and youth baseball and football coach.
His hobbies include gardening, cooking, and golf.
