Godley ISD Education Foundation

The Mission of the Godley ISD Education Foundation is to generate and distribute resources to the Godley Independent School District to enrich teaching, inspire learning, and maximize innovative opportunities for all students.

On December 19, 2017, a small group of business, civic and community leaders began a discussion about creating the Godley ISD Education Foundation Articles of Incorporation. The original goals included funding dual credit for all scholastically qualified students, innovative teacher grants, and micro scholarships to help students with senior projects. Many meetings followed the next year to develop bylaws, focus GEF goals and mission, and develop the nonprofit organization. Founding board members included: President Roy Carroll, Secretary Graig Fancher, David Wallis, Craig Stevenson, Jeff Pannell, Darrell Scoggins, and Executive Director Rich Dear.

The GEF was established by community leaders to support the mission of the Godley Independent School District by supporting innovative educational projects and activities that are beyond traditional funding and/or for which tax dollars cannot be expanded. Foundation funds will be used for educational enrichment programs such as innovative grants and programs to enhance student achievement, to encourage and recognize exemplary staff involvement, and to foster community support and involvement.

In order to accomplish its mission, the GEF encourages contributions for endowment purposes and current programs. The Foundation plans and administers all programs in cooperation with the Godley Independent School District administration. The Foundation, however, is a separate entity.

The GEF needs your support. Volunteering with the Godley Education Foundation gives you a chance to be a part of strengthening our Godley public schools and make a difference in the lives of thousands of children. Whether you want to volunteer on a regular basis, or just occasionally, there are a number of volunteer opportunities available to you to fit your schedule and interests. If you would like more information about the GEF, are interested in making a donation or volunteering your services, or just want to visit about the Godley Schools, please contact Rich Dear, the foundation's executive director, and GISD superintendent, at [email protected]

The Godley ISD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible. Your contribution will support efforts to enrich, enhance and maximize educational opportunities for all students. Thank you and Go Wildcats!
