Distance Learning Instructions during COVID-19 Closure

Wildcat Families,

We hope that students have enjoyed their break and we hope that our community is healthy and safe! Below are the distance learning plans for each campus during the current closures that will last at least through April 3, 2020, with the possibility of an extension. Teachers will be continuously updating and adding to these folders, so please continue to be patient as they do this. Campuses will also be contacting parents with information on their distance learning plans. Please email any questions you have during this time to your campus’ specific email address listed below and on each campus website.

Also listed at the bottom is the contact information for our campus counselors and a link to resources for counseling and social-emotional support. We understand that these next few weeks will be a learning curve for everyone, but our staff is working hard to make sure that all of our students’ needs are met.

Godley Elementary:

Godley Elementary will be utilizing choice boards for student activities at home. A new choice board will be pushed out via Class DoJo and School Messenger each week on Sunday evening. The choice boards will be posted on the front windows of the buildings and copies can be made available on the porch for pick up if needed. There is no need to have a paper copy unless you don’t have access to technology.

The goal for GES is to provide learning experiences that can be done with supplies that you have readily available in your home, and without the use of technology, although technology options will be available on each board. If there are items or supplies that you need, please email and help will be provided. Some resources are available should you need them and the campus would be happy to share.

Godley Intermediate 2/4:

Godley Intermediate 2-4 will be utilizing choice boards for student activities at home.  Any material or online assignments previously sent by a teacher is just for extra practice or a recommendation but is not required.  The choice boards being sent out on Thursday, March 26th are intended for use through April 3rd. Each choice board has options for no technology required, low technology, and technology options so that the needs of all students are met. A choice board will be sent out weekly (each Friday) for the following week if the closure is extended.  The choice boards are loaded in this distance learning link, and will also be sent out through Remind.  The choice boards will also be posted at the front of the building if you need to come by to take a picture and will have some copies in a tub if you need a hard copy.  A supply tub will be located at the front of the campus in case you have a need for supplies at home, but please take just the items you need.

If you have any questions please call 817-592-4380 (leave a message if it goes to voicemail-we will check it often), or email  We are here to help you and your student(s) in any way that we can.

Godley Middle School:

Godley Middle School will be utilizing Choice Boards for student activities at home.  These Choice Boards will be pushed out through Google Classroom on Thursday (3/26) morning.  These projects will help students review content from their previous learning experiences. In these assignments, we are giving students voice and choice in their lessons from each subject.  We want these learning experiences to be a positive one for our students. We will also offer paper copies of assignments for any student that does not have internet access. Parents and/or students may pick up these assignment packets that will be located in the MS foyer starting Thursday morning. The assignments will be in tubs that will be labeled 7th-grade non-digital projects and 8th-grade non-digital projects.  All projects (digital and non-digital) will need to be completed by Friday, April 3, 2020. Teachers will be available via email if your child needs a resource. We ask that students communicate with their teachers if needed during the regular school hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm if they have questions. If you have any questions please feel free to email

Godley High School:

Godley High School is offering Project Based experiences to help students learn from previous content and learn from current events.  We are creating project offerings for students to have student agency, or voice and choice, in what they learn during this time. The projects are designed to include several different content areas so students can see the connected nature of learning. Our main focus is learning, and we hope these experiences will help students grow.

The project learning experiences will be sent out on Thursday via Google Classrooms.  If you do not have technology resources, we will have paper copies near the front doors of the High School.  The due dates are different based upon each learning experience, which is chosen by your child. The teachers will be available via Google Classroom and email as a resource to help with these experiences.  We will ask students to communicate with teachers during normal school hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm if they have any questions.

If you have any questions, you can email and we will do what we can to help.  We hope that you will find the experiences encourage learning and cause your child to think. Please email any questions to, or if you need any help.
