Track & Field State Champions Receive Rings

The district had the honor of celebrating two Godley graduates, Meritt McKittrick and Jaycee Pannell, and presented them with their well-deserved track & field state championship rings that were provided by the Godley Booster Club!

Merrit McKittrick is a 2019 graduate of Godley High School and earned numerous track and field accolades in her time here.
-In 2016, she was a state qualifier and placed 5th place in the shot put and 4th in the 100m and 400m.
-In 2017, she was a state qualifier and bronze medalist in the 100m and 400m
-In 2018, she was a state qualifier, silver medalist in the 400m, and state champion in the 100m.
-In 2019, she was a four-time state qualifier, a silver medalist in the 100m, and the state champion in the 400m.
Meritt is currently enrolled at Tarleton State University, with the intention of transferring to Texas A&M University this coming Fall.
 
Jaycee Pannell is a 2017 graduate of Godley High School and was also a standout track and field athlete.
-In 2015, she was a state qualifier for the 100 Hurdles
-In 2016, she was a state runner-up in the 300 Hurdles
-In 2017, she was a 4A state champion- 100 and 300 hurdles, made the all-state track and field team and Academic All-State Team
-She was a 10x regional qualifier in 5 different events and a 4X Region 1 Champion.
Jaycee is now in her junior year at Abilene Christian University, where she is a member of the Wildcat Track and Field Team, where she is still excelling. She is majoring in kinesiology and plans to pursue a career in Pediatric Occupational Therapy upon graduation from ACU.
