Waiver Day Policy

Waiver Day Policy
Committee Meeting September 16, 2013
Approved 2/18/2014

Revise the timeline from days to hours 1 day = 6 hours
Employees must accumulate 30 hours yearly.
At least 6 hours must come from a technology area.
All PD for waiver days will be completed outside the regular school day (7:30-4:00), on Weekends, or Holidays

Continue the teacher/district led breakout sessions. These were very good and informative and held during regular in-service week.

Cannot take the same course year after year unless prior approval is received (ex.: UEA courses)

Waiver days must be completed by the last day of February for each current school year.  This will ensure that the training has an impact on students during the current year.

Waiver days for the next year may begin on March 1. You may count no more than 12 hours received in the current year for the next year’s Professional Development calendar.

Submit form through Skyward Workshop Module.  Those that include fees must be submitted a minimum of two weeks in advance and for summer conferences the budget deadline of May 1st must be met.

Administrators have 5 days to approve or deny other non-fee events.
