SHAC Meeting Minutes

Many of the SHAC members are ready to roll off of SHAC
We discussed names of possible new members and who will contact them to ask if they would like to serve on SHAC.
TASK from Burleson will be doing their program in Joshua this year. Alvarado will have the TASK program today in 7th grade. The girls and boys are divided and they will be doing the program during each class period. Terrie Goodloe will be going to observe the program in action and will report back at the next meeting.
Joan Boyd in Joshua talked to Keri Owen and stated she liked that the presenters will be going into individual classes and they are very flexible.
Vicki Bryant will look on the State of Texas website and look into the grants available.
Comment that the “dance” craze helps with P.E. There are “dance mats” available that the kids try to follow the electronic steps. It is helping to get the kids to exercise and lose weight.
PE/Band in the 6th grade are together. PE one day and Band the next. We will check into the required PE time for 6th grade. High School students get a PE credit for marching band, will check into that also.
Terrie Goodloe went to the Pregnancy Aid Center Banquet. She heard many encouraging stories about the work the center is doing.
