SHAC Meeting Minutes
Next Meeting at Godley Middle School Library October 7 , 2008, at 8:30

SHAC presented TASK to the school board and it was approved. TASK (an abstinence program) will be taught by the Burleson Pregnancy Center beginning the 08-09 School Year.
SHAC discussed the “Dance Revolution” games for P.E. classes at the Intermediate and Middle Schools. Mrs. Dear will call the company and get a final cost for the games.
SHAC discussed the budget for the year and what items need to be purchased this year and what may nee to be purchased next year.
Vicki Bryant motioned to purchase the dance mats and Keri Owen seconded the motion.
The motion carried unanimously.
The SHAC’s next meeting will be next school year on Oct. 7, 2008 at 8:30 at the middle school library.
Vicki Bryant discussed the need for an Intermediate school representative on the SHAC committee. Mrs. Wilson, the music teacher, will be invited to join SHAC next school year. Also, another parent representative has been invited, Tina Horton.
Penny Chesshir discussed the application for the “Gold School Program”, which recognizes schools for having healthy food choices in their cafeteria.
Penny also discussed the summer feeding guidelines. By the state’s requirements, if the school has 60% or more students on free/reduced lunch, they must provide lunches to the students throughout the summer. Godley ISD is currently at 58%. Penny discussed the details of the summer feeding program and the need for transportation due to the size of the district.
