Mindy Hodges Coach Brister
Hi! My name is Kathy Brister and I teach 3-5 grade PE. I also coach 7-8 grade girls basketball and track. I have been teaching for 27 years and I love it. I am married with one daughter. I like to read and hang out with my family in the summer. My husband teaches 5th grade science at Venus ISD and my daughter, Becca, is a freshman at St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. Go Ladycats and Wildcats!
The next couple of weeks we will be running a little longer time each day and working on volleyball skills. (passing, setting and serving)
GRADING: If a child does not have his/her tennis shoes, they will sit out and write and 5 points will be deducted from their PE grade. If they are disruptive or do not follow the rules, they will be asked to take a packet and write a paragraph about self control. After they complete the paragraph, they will be allowed to rejoin the activity. This will, however, take 3 points from their PE grade. We will accept a parent note for 3 consecutive days if a student has been sick or is hurt. If the student needs to sit out longer than 3 days, they will need a note from a doctor. I will keep the grades updated on Skyward. So check on your child's grade as often as you'd like.
