The Godley ISD Band program has been steadily growing over the past four years. We have adopted a policy of "there are no conflicts". This policy allows every student who wishes to be in the band program to be, without worry of athletic or academic scheduling issues.
At the High School, the band has grown from around 40 to over 100. Throughout the 2008-2009 school year, the High School band received the Sweepstakes Award, indicating an overall superior rating at all UIL Competitions. Further, the GHS Band received a First Divisin Rating from all judges at every contest this year. In addition, the desire to play in the band has encouraged all students to be more successful in their other classes. This success is a testament to the dedication of the students, school, and community.
At the Middle School, we have started an innovative new program in which every 6th grader is in band. This program has exposed many students to music that may have not previously had the opportunity. The 7th and 8th grade bands have grown tremendously.
