Seven Students make the District Honor Band

Congratulations to these fine students who placed in the All-District Honor Band. These students completed with others from 1A, 2A, and 3A bands from across the district. On clarinet, Calvin Spurgeon earned 9th chair. Becca Brister earned 7th chair on trumpet.  On french horn, Shayla Williams earned 1st chair, Efrain Rios 4th, Cassie Hooper 6th, and Amanda Hoekstra was named first alternate. Steven Jusko earned first chair on Tuba, and Hoston Hanna earned 6th. These students will perform a concert with the All-District Honor Band on Saturday, Nov. 8th at Kennedale High School.

 

Straight Ones UIL Region 7 Marching Contest

October 18th, 2008

 

For the first time in more than 15 years, the Godley High School Band received a one at UIL Marching Contest. Only four Class AA bands made a Divison One at the contest, and only one other Class AA Band made straight ones. Straight Ones represents the highest possible score for a UIL Contest.  This divison I rating if the first step to a Sweepstakes Award, given to those band who receive a first division in Marching, Concert, and Sightreading.

 

Straight Ones at Paluxy Valley Marching Festival

The Godley Wildcat Band reveived a First Division Rating from all five judges at the Paluxy Valley Marching Festival. The Band finished in 9th place, just missing the finals. The WildCat Band beat several 2A, 3A, 4A, and even 5A bands at the competition.

 

Outstanding Band Camp!

August 21 , 2008

 

The Godley HS Band recently completed their August Band Camp.  During the three weeks, the band was able to put the whole show on the field while marching and playing.  The directors appreciate all of the student's hard work.
