Godley ISD was awarded a $500 grant from the Godley Community Walmart during the Grand Opening ceremonies on Jan 28, 2015. Students from all four campuses were present to receive the grant. A big thank you to the Godley Community Walmart for their support of Godley ISD and the community.

On Sunday January 18th, Z Club members were joined by the Johnson County chapter of Zonta International for the installation of members and officers to the Godley ROAR chapter of Z Club. Z Club is service and advocacy group dedicated to social justice. Click on article title for a group picture and list of members.

Corbin Bogart built and exhibited a gun cabinet at the Johnson County Junior Livestock Show, and was named Reserve Champion Senior Metal Ag Mechanics Project. He entered this same project in the Junior Agricultural Mechanics Show at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Corbin was awarded first in his class, best wood working project, and Grand Champion Ag Mechanics Project in the Wildlife Division. Along with this win came over $3000 in prize money, vouchers, and various tools.Congratulations Corbin, way to represent Godley FFA!
During Friday night's contests between the Godley Wildcats and the Alvarado Indians all teams came up with a W including a game that ticked into overtime. Junior Varsity Lady Cats kept a short but commanding lead on the Lady Indians and ended up with a score of 38-37. Junior varsity boy's ended up with a low scoring 46-43 win over the indians and added on a nail biting 4th quarter that led the Wildcats into overtime. Also during and in between games, "Roar on the Floor" or the Fighting Wildcat band showed their support. Coach Mark Chauveaux was recognized for his 400th win and the Godley School Board were recognized by Godley Elementary at halftime.(Please click on headline for more)
